Through this research, I discovered that the core cooling and heating technology was already perfected. The same hydronic system used by the “big names” could be implemented without unnecessary markups. By choosing a proven plastic case (durable, tested, though not flashy), we reduced costs while maintaining everyday performance. How the HUB Works

OAK SLEEP HUB 2 uses hydronic cooling and heating — circulating water, not air, through a mattress pad. Water transfers heat far more efficiently, giving you results across a 12 °C – 55 °C range.

  • Electronics‑Free Surface: The mattress pad is 100% water‑regulated. No electronics under you, no EMF exposure.
  • Smart Sensors in the HUB: We measure in/out water temperature and ambient room temperature, not cluttering the pad with circuitry.
  • Data‑Driven Intelligence: Using 20 million hours of sleep data, we developed an algorithm that aligns body, skin, and room temperature with sleep quality. The result: faster sleep onset, deeper cycles, and more restorative recovery.
  • Dual‑Zone Control: Couples can sleep at different temperatures — one side cool at 12 °C, the other warmer at 20 °C. Up to 12°C of variation between zones. *Room temperature must be 19°C or lower to achieve 12 °C.
  • Subscription‑Free: Cooling water doesn’t require cloud computing. It requires physics. That’s why OAK SLEEP will never charge a monthly fee.

Unexpected Transparency

We design sleep technology for real people, not marketing brochures. That means being upfront about where the HUB 2 excels — and where it doesn’t. How's that for transparency.

Every water‑cooling system releases warm exhaust air. On warmer nights, this can raise your bedroom temperature unless you have AC or strong airflow. We won’t pretend otherwise.

To keep the HUB 2 affordable, we engineered it around the optimal sleep environment of 15–19°C, with a 3°C performance buffer. For most sleepers, this is perfect. But if you weigh over 120 kg, or can’t keep your room under 24°C (ideally under 22°C), the HUB 2 won’t deliver the cooling you expect.

If you’re investing $2,000–$5,000 in a sleep system, we assume you’re already committed to the ideal sleep environment, paired with an AC - and we build around that reality, saving you money.

 

Quality Control & Reliability

At OAK SLEEP, our commitment to reliability is obsessive. Every HUB 2 undergoes a three‑stage “rattle” test to ensure structural integrity. Each unit is run through full operational testing before assembly into its case, and then the process is repeated again before boxing and shipping. Finally, a timed and measured pressure test for the mattress cover and the HUB.

We also source critical components from proven global suppliers:

  • The water connections are the same as those used by one of the largest residential appliance brands in the world (over $6 billion AUD revenue last year). They are tested to last and engineered never to leak.
  • The buttons and electronics interface follow the same principle — built with components trusted in millions of households worldwide, ensuring durability, reliability, and intuitive use.
